What Once Was Light

We knew what was once light,
We were in power,
Soon we began to slip,
Then the filters were put in place,
Soon the light we once knew was of a different shade,
No longer the true light,
The light became a lie,
The lie became their sun,
They lived by it,
They depended on it,
We were seen as threats,
We were forced to the bottom,
With force we stood upon each other,
To reach to where we once were,
Mind of many, we gathered,
We all extended our hands to their sun and strangled the life from it,
We extinguished what they knew as light,
Now they can see everything,
They can see themselves,
They can see the lie,
They can see their end.
